    This popular, informal event enables recently registered postgraduate researchers to get an overview of the institutional support available throughout their research degree programmes.

    This event is aimed at postgraduate researchers within their first six months of registration.

  • The Progression exam

    This workshop will help you to successfully navigate Progression by explaining the regulations surrounding this important hurdle in your research degree journey, and providing hints and tips on putting together the written element and preparation for the oral examination. This event is aimed at postgraduate researchers approaching Progression.

  • NVivo: software for qualitative data analysis

    Date: 05 February - 06 February 2018
    Venue: Room 2D73, within the Learning and Development Centre 2D75, (situated opposite the Glendining Theatre), Frenchay Campus

    NVivo is designed to facilitate the management of qualitative research and analysis. The two-day workshop provides the opportunity to gain a thorough introduction to NVivo and practice tasks using one's own data. The focus is on understanding software architecture in its entirety, recognising the importance of analytic planning, setting up projects efficiently, exploring, coding and querying data.

  • Introduction to Doctoral Supervision: Pedagogy and Practice

    This one day course is designed for new doctoral supervisors. The course covers the key aspects of the doctoral journey from admission to completion. It provides participants with an opportunity to discuss the practice of supervision with a range of other academics. Those who have not yet supervised a PGR through to completion in the UK must complete this course before PGRs they will be supervising submit their RD1 forms.

  • Designing for your wholesome life
