Celebrating UWE Bristol's emerging researchers

At this event, Vice-Chancellor's Early Career Researcher award holders for 2016/17 will be presenting the outcome of their projects.

Areas of research supported by the scheme this year include:

  • Investigating quality of life, healthcare experiences and support needs among families affected by cleft lip and palate
  • Evolving parametric design models using genetic programming with artificial selection
  • The weakest link: deterioration of masonry bridges under enhanced flood conditions
  • Quantifying the impact of turbulent gusts on aircraft dynamic response due to climate change
  • The implementation in businesses of the new law on gender pay reporting
  • The human branched chain aminotransferase expression of leukaemic cell lines and its association with cell survival upon chemotherapeutic treatment
  • The mobilisation of musculoskeletal knowledge in the NHS: the providers' perspective
  • Reducing slat aero-acoustic noise using deployable baffles
  • Investigating how dissent is performed and responded to in the House of Commons.
