Science and Wildlife Communication Joint Seminar Series: A collaboration from the teams behind UWE's Science Communication and Wildlife Filmmaking Postgraduate Programmes.
Justin Dillon, Professor of science and environmental education and Head of the Graduate School of Education at the University of Bristol.
In this talk Justin will look at the challenges facing science education inside and outside the classroom. He will provide examples of collaborations and partnerships between museum and university professionals which focus on improving practice through research in terms of science engagement.
Addressing Wicked Problems through a Partnership Approach to Science Engagement
Justin is Professor of science and environmental education and Head of the Graduate School of Education at the University of Bristol.
Justin trained as a teacher and taught in six London schools before joining King's College London in 1989. His research focuses on learning and engagement in and out of schools. Justin was a member of Defra's Public Engagement Group from 2011-14 and he is a member the UK's National Curriculum Science Expert Group. Justin was a Trustee of the Avon Wildlife Trust and the Council for Learning Outside the Classroom.
