The Bloodhound SSC Lecture is an evening lecture and networking event with the opportunity to have a walk around the Bloodhound SSC at the Technical Centre, Avonmouth, Bristol.

Mark Chapman, Chief Engineer, will give a technology and engineering update on the project which will run in the UK this summer and then South Africa in the autumn of 2015.

On the evening you will be able to see the current build status of the car first hand and hear from Mark about the challenges, successes and focus for the coming months as the team work to roll out the car for its initial runs this summer in the UK.

This event co-insides with the beginning of National Science Week which takes place from 13-22 March and is delivered as part of UWE's Bristol European Green Capital events in 2015.

Biography

Mark Chapman graduated in 1992 with a degree in Aeronautical Engineering and has since worked on a range of projects in the aerospace and other sectors. Past projects and roles include; time in US with Boeing and also in the UK with Rolls Royce where he worked on the F-35 Lightning II, the Joint Strike Fighter. Mark joined Bloodhound at the start of the project and took the reins as Chief Engineer for the project in 2010. Mark has recently been nominated for inclusion in the SEMTA's Engineering Hall of Fame.
