This event has now passed.

Date: 05 February - 26 February 2014
Venue: Location will be confirmed once you've registered
Time: 14:00-15:30 and 16:00-17:30

The purpose of the Succeed Body Image Programme is to help university-age women establish and maintain a positive and healthy body image. Using highly interactive, peer-led small groups, the programme consist of two sessions that run for 90 minutes each.

Our society is full of images and messages that set very strict and unrealistic standards for female beauty and make it hard for women to feel comfortable and confident about their appearance. Self-consciousness about appearance, in turn, prevents women from fully engaging in life and reaching their potential. Therefore, during Feel Good February we will be running discussion groups for women to promote positive body image.

About the Succeed Body Image Programme

The purpose of the Succeed Body Image Programme is to help university-age women establish and maintain a positive and healthy body image. Using highly interactive, peer-led small groups, the programme consist of two sessions that run for 90 minutes each.

The Succeed Body Image Programme emphasises creating and reaffirming positive and healthy personal body image through a variety of structured discussions, activities, and exercises. To that end, university students learn to embrace the healthy-ideal and reduce their own body dissatisfaction by decreasing "fat talk" in their daily life, engaging in body activism and embracing all of the wonderful non-appearance related aspects of themselves and their peers.

We want you to be a part of it

The Succeed Body Image Programmed is delivered by peer-leaders – your fellow students - because the past success of the Reflections Programme has been in part attributed to the fact that it is led by enthusiastic and committed young women who are university students and trained as peer leaders.

These sessions will be taking place every Wednesday (5, 12,19 and 26) during February.

Don't forget as part of Feel Good February you can collect a stamp for attending this programme (you must attend both the sessions to be eligible for a stamp). Once you've booked, just turn up and a peer leader will stamp your loyalty card for you.
