David Abraham, Chief Executive Officer of Channel 4 will deliver a lecture entitled; 'Channel 4 in a Connected TV World' as part of the Distinguished Executive Address Series.
Channel 4 celebrated its 30th birthday in 2012; a landmark year in which the Paralympic games were a great success and whereby further innovation in digital progress was made in positioning the channel in the new era of connected TV. In this talk, David Abraham will outline how, as a national broadcaster, Channel 4 is facing the challenges of great change in the media landscape.
David Abraham became Channel 4's sixth Chief Executive in May 2010. During the past two years David has restructured Channel 4's leadership team, secured a 10 year adsales deal with UKTV, implemented a viewer relationship strategy, and saw the Channel through the London 2012 Paralympic Games and the launch of 4seven.
Prior to Channel 4 David managed a variety of successful media businesses in the UK and the US in the broadcasting and advertising sectors. He led Discovery UK during a period of rapid growth between 2001-2004, led the revival of cable channel TLC in the US between 2005-2007, and repositioned UKTV's ten channels, including Dave, as CEO from 2007-2010. David worked at the creative agencies CDP and Chiat Day in the 1980s after earning a degree in Modern History from Oxford University. He was a founding partner of the influential 90s agency St Luke's. He is a member of the Creative Skillset Board.
