About the workshop

Develop Your Own Carbon Assessment is a free two-day workshop for environmental businesses, which will take place at the University of the West of England, Bristol on:

• Tuesday 4 September 2012 (10:00 - 16:00) and
• Tuesday 18 September 2012 (10:00 - 16:00)

Delegates of this two-day workshop will produce bespoke carbon assessments of their own products and technologies, crucial information for accessing OEM and public sector supply chains, securing grant funding and attracting environmentally conscious investors and customers.

This workshop will ensure companies and entrepreneurs have adequate information about their carbon performance to react to these developments. Led by air quality experts, it will explore why emissions matter, how they can be reduced and how this can help improve marketing, finance and sales.

Attendees will then apply this learning in a practical way, using 'carbon calculators' to generate unique assessments of their products/technologies, interpreting the findings and considering how to gain maximum value from these results.

Outcomes of the workshop

The workshop will offer guidance to:

• Make your business more attractive to large procurers
• Improve your UK and EU funding applications
• Increase investor, partner and customer confidence
• Learn to save costs while reducing harmful emissions

Workshop participants will:

• Produce a carbon 'footprint' for products/technologies
• Identify cost saving/emission reduction opportunities
• Learn to meet/exceed environmental supplier obligations
• Improve their risk management and resilience
• Better understand carbon management science/policy
