This event will be an open dialogue between Criminal Justice Unit members and criminal justice institutions, as well as related professionals and practitioners in their areas of expertise with the aim of fostering collaborative projects.
The areas of criminal justice to be covered in the showcase include:
- Personal factors in offending, including the neuroscience and psychology of offending
- Inter-personal violence, including rape, male rape, child sexual abuse and sexual violence
- Human trafficking state responses to criminality, including policing, probation, youth justice
- White collar crime
This event is being organised by the Criminal Justice Unit at UWE, a cross faculty research and CPD unit based within law, with members drawn from across the University including experts from law, criminology, psychology, education, public health, applied sciences and history.
The Criminal Justice Unit develops and supports research, CPD, knowledge exchange and other scholarly activity. The department runs regular seminars and conferences, which in the last four years have included several high profile national and international events.
